What do I mean by an outfit for everything?

I have always felt that picking out your clothes should be a group activity.  Every since I was little I would run up and down the stairs asking whichever family member would listen, "Does this look ok?"  I've also always been one to offer advice right back, and when I do I ask, "Well where are you going? What will you be doing?"

Moving to college and living with three other girls has only magnified this tendancy- that's four closets to pick from, leaving no excuse for anything but the perfect outfit.  Every morning and evening is a mad dash back and forth between the rooms of,

"Does anyone have a red belt?"

"I need knee socks.  What do you guys have for knee socks?"
"Has anyone seen Blaire's grey sweater? Did you have it last?"
"Can I borrow your black and white skirt?"

I, however, generally have the most specific needs.  My pleas for fashion advice tend to be the likes of, I need an outfit that says....

I'm in an awful mood but I'm also cuter than your ex-girlfriend.

I'm going to be studying in the library all day but I want to feel like I'm in an office while I do it.

I have four classes today and one of them is ballet so I have to wear tights but I also want to feel dramatic not ugly.

I'm not really trying (even though I obviously am)

I'm seeing my parents for the first time in two months and I want them to think I look healthy even though I actually feel like crap and need something comfy.

I love you but it is too soon for me to say that but please ask me out again.

I think you get the drift.  Generally, whether it be a google search, my roommates, or a phone call to a friend miles away the general consensus seems to be "You can't have an outfit that says something that specific."

Well I say you can.  And I will prove it.
